Matt Stockman, the Chief Programming Officer at Pillar Media, is set to depart the organization on August 31st after a six-year tenure. Stockman's journey with Pillar Media began in February 2020 as the Director of Programming for Christian AC "Star 99.1" in Zarepath, New Jersey. His leadership and expertise have significantly impacted the organization, and he has been instrumental in programming various Christian radio stations. Stockman's previous roles include Program Director at "K-Love" and Crista Media's "Spirit 105.3" in Seattle, as well as hosting mornings at WMIT-FM in Asheville, North Carolina. His diverse experience in the radio industry has been invaluable to Pillar Media.
In a statement, Stockman expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with the Pillar Media team, saying, "I’ve loved every moment of my time with Pillar Media. At every level, this team has been an absolute dream to work with, and I thank God for the privilege it has been to serve alongside each of them. I believe God has opened the door for this next chapter, and I look forward to using my experience and gifts to help other organizations make an impact for the Kingdom."
Art Garza, the Executive Director of Pillar Media, acknowledged Stockman's contributions, stating, "Matt’s leadership and expertise have made a lasting impact on our organization. While we never enjoy losing great talent, we’ve long known this entrepreneurial path was something he felt called toward. We’re grateful for his contributions and excited for his new consulting venture. Matt will always be part of our family, and we know this won’t be the last chapter we share together."
Stockman's departure comes as he embarks on a new chapter in his career, focusing on expanding his consulting work with nonprofit and Christian radio organizations nationwide. His decision reflects a desire to explore new avenues and contribute his expertise to a broader range of organizations. As Garza noted, this transition is a natural progression for Stockman, who has always been an entrepreneur at heart.
Pillar Media, a prominent player in the Christian radio industry, operates stations in Central New Jersey, Cincinnati, and Denver. Stockman's departure marks a significant change for the organization, but his impact on the company's programming and leadership will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy. As he moves forward in his consulting endeavors, the industry will continue to benefit from his expertise and passion for Christian radio.
