The survey, which included nearly 26,000 respondents from diverse nations such as the US, China, India, Russia, and several European countries, paints a fascinating picture. It reveals that a significant majority across almost all territories believe China's global influence will grow over the next decade. This sentiment is particularly strong in countries like South Africa, Brazil, and Turkey, where over 80% of respondents foresee China's ascendancy.

Despite Trump's anti-EU rhetoric, a majority of Chinese citizens view the EU as a great power and a potential partner. The authors of the report, Ivan Krastev, Mark Leonard, and Timothy Garton Ash, suggest that Trump's actions, including his intervention in Venezuela and territorial ambitions in Greenland, indicate a shift towards a more fear-based approach to global leadership.
